Hourglass

Most wall lights are invisible during the day. The Hourglass isn't. The tapered hourglass body — 90mm wide, 180mm tall, and 100mm deep — projects off the wall with enough presence to read as a deliberate design element regardless of whether the light is on. The form casts its own shadow on the wall surface behind it, which means the fitting is doing visual work around the clock. After dark, two 5W Epistar LEDs deliver warm up/down light that suits the scale of the fitting — enough output to hold its presence on a larger wall section without overpowering the atmosphere. At 2700K the light is warm and residential, consistent with the rest of the Lumifi wall light range. The sand black finish and double powder coat make it well-suited to contemporary and industrial exteriors, and to spaces where the fitting is intended to contrast with lighter wall surfaces. Epistar LEDs for colour consistency, Kegu driver for long-term reliability, IP54 rated for outdoor and bathroom walls, SAA compliant as standard. Running costs are under $9 a year based on typical evening use.

The Hourglass runs on 240V AC and requires a licensed electrician to install. At 100mm deep, it has the most projection off the wall of any fitting in this range — worth considering when positioning near doors, gates, and high-traffic areas where physical clearance matters. The tapered form also means the silicone bead at the back edge is particularly important at this depth: ask your sparky to run it as standard practice to keep moisture out and ensure long-term performance in outdoor locations.
