With 350 strands in total, it delivers a fuller star field than many lower-count alternatives, which often look too sparse once installed. The effect is designed to feel more natural too. Instead of a harsh on-off flash, this kit uses a rotating twinkle wheel to create a realistic blue and white fading effect, with adjustable RPM and a built-in dimmer knob so you can fine-tune the final look for your room.

Install the light generator centrally within the ceiling cavity and connect it to a 240V power supply, ideally on a dedicated on/off switch. Avoid wiring the unit into the same circuit as your downlights, as that would require the downlights to stay on whenever the star ceiling is in use. To create the star field, drill 325 x 1 mm holes and 25 x 2 mm holes in the ceiling, then feed each strand through from above and distribute them randomly for a more natural effect. For best visual results, use a dark matte ceiling colour such as grey, dark blue, or black to reduce reflections and improve contrast.
